Storm, flood, fire
A stairwell fills with smoke, a street fills with water, a storm lasts for hours. Walking out of the situation stops being a possibility. The escape pod is the other door, the option that goes up instead of out.

02 / ESCAPE POD / SCHEMATIC
There are evacuations you can walk out of, and there are evacuations where that is impossible. The Escape Pod is built for the second kind. Six to eight people get in, the hatch seals, and within a few minutes the cabin is climbing, clear of the fire, the flood, the storm, or the breach. It doesn’t matter what caused the emergency. The escape pod’s job is to get people off the ground while there is still time.

USE
Between uses it lives in the deployment container, with the arms folded and the envelope packed down. Neighbors do not have to know it is there. For more extreme situations, the vehicle can be armored and a stealth finish can be added. The cage that keeps an electrical pulse off the cabin is part of the machine, not an add-on. When the need arises, the escape pod is the way out.
A stairwell fills with smoke, a street fills with water, a storm lasts for hours. Walking out of the situation stops being a possibility. The escape pod is the other door, the option that goes up instead of out.
A perimeter fails, a motorcade stops moving, or an elite team needs a quick extraction. With an escape pod on site, the people can be out of Dodge before anyone else knows what’s happening.
